Dear Sundance Elementary School Staff and Families,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the start of summer break. My name is Jennie Mikels, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new principal. It is truly an honor to join the Sundance Elementary community, and I am eager to embark on this journey with you.
Over the past 30 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving in various roles, including teaching at the elementary and middle school levels, acting as an instructional coach, and most recently, as principal at Westwood Elementary School in the Poway Unified School District. My experience has taught me the value of collaboration and open communication in creating exceptional educational experiences for students.
At Sundance Elementary, I am committed to fostering an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in the power of a supportive community where each voice is heard and respected. Together, we will continue to prioritize high-level student achievement while also nurturing personal growth and a strong sense of self for our students.
