Principal's Message

August 1, 2023

Dear Sundance Families and Community,

Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year!  It’s an honor to continue to serve as Principal of such an incredible community that is highly regarded for its academic excellence and innovation.  Sundance is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive school campus where every child is seen, heard, and valued.   Back by popular demand, our theme will continue to be belonging (bee-longing), and our goal is to ensure all Wildcats feel connected to their classroom, teacher, friends, and our staff.  Beginning on day 1 of school, our Wildcats will step foot onto our bee-themed campus.  There will be intentional moments of belonging woven throughout our school day.

As a Voyager Year 2 School, we will continue to provide meaningful feedback and pathways for our Wildcats to demonstrate their learning in different ways in a flexible learning environment.   The program is expanding to more grade levels this year!   Click here to learn more about the PUSD Voyager Program.   We look forward to expanding our World Language and Culture program, adding art classes to all TK-5th grade classes through our Prop 28 grant, and engaging in Illustrative, a new math curriculum that is centered on a project-based learning approach.

Please click the Video Link to access a short recording to share with your child connected to our bee-longing theme.  If you are new to Sundance, I have included a short video (linked here) about my background and educational journey.

As your Principal, I appreciate feedback and value open communication.  My door is always open and I’m just an email or phone call away so don’t hesitate to stop by!  Please take the time to read our Weekly Wildcat every Friday evening and follow us on Instagram (#SundanceElementary).

Go Wildcats!
